Some of you may remember that Diana completed a charity cycle challenge in Myanmar in November 2017 raising funds for The St. James's Place Charitable Foundation.
Diana decided to get back in the saddle and into training to attempt a ride from Vienna to Prague. This time through The St. James's Place Charitable Foundation raising funds for School of Hard Knocks. SOHK delivers life-changing programmes across the UK, changing lives of children and adults using rugby, boxing and strongman courses, supported by a curriculum of powerful life lessons. SOHK works with unemployed adults to find and sustain employment, and with school children at risk of exclusion to help them reengage with education.
Diana trained hard leading up to the event. Exmoor is beautiful and excellent for training, but with little respite between the relentless hills she often cursed the bike as she pushed hard to reach the top of the Moor!
The time arrived to head off to Vienna! Arriving at this historic city, the weather was cold and wet, but luckily cleared giving the 136 riders perfect cycling conditions. The route was stunning and the camaraderie and encouragement of all the riders was great. After three days of cycling, 73 miles, 84 miles and finally 67 miles, we arrived in Prague. The final day was the hardest with a few impressive hills challenging tired legs!
A huge thank you for all those who supported Diana. Every donation was matched pound for pound by
St. James's Place Wealth Management.
